Overview

KBR's Point Mugu pilot flies C/KC-130 test, aerial-refuelling, logistics, and post-maintenance missions as aircraft commander. Work covers planning, scheduling, execution, formal reporting, and eventual instructor duties, with travel estimated at one quarter of the role. The profile requires a bachelor's degree, ten years of related experience, three years as a test officer, and 1,000 hours specifically on C-130 aircraft. Candidates must already be C/KC-130 commanders, instructors, and check pilots. Medical and instrument qualifications may be FAA or U.S. Navy/military, while the flight certificate is FAA Commercial multi-engine. U.S. citizenship and Secret-clearance eligibility are essential.

Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, execute, and report C/KC-130 flight operations.
- Act as aircraft commander during flight-test, refuelling, logistics, and post-maintenance missions.
- Develop toward instructor duties for the assigned programme.
- Travel for approximately 25 percent of the role.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree and at least ten years of related experience.
  • Include at least three years as a test officer within the related experience.
  • Have at least 1,000 hours on C-130 aircraft.
  • Be qualified as a C/KC-130 aircraft commander, instructor, and check pilot.
  • Maintain an FAA Class II medical or the applicable Navy aviation medical group.
  • Hold FAA or U.S. military instrument-flight qualifications.
  • Hold an FAA Commercial multi-engine certificate.
  • Be a U.S. citizen able to maintain a Secret clearance.
  • A preferred profile includes 1,500 PIC hours.
