Overview
Rico Aviation is seeking a fixed-wing pilot in command for aeromedical work from Amarillo, initially operating the King Air BE200GT with a possible future Citation upgrade. The captain coordinates closely with medical crew members and makes timely weather and aircraft-performance decisions at both large and small airports. Pilots follow a four-day, four-night, eight-day-off rotation and are paid during training. The role supports bed-to-bed critical-care transport across the High Plains and the continental United States, requiring professional conduct and dependable decision-making in stressful conditions. Strong single-pilot IFR competence and a defined total-time minimum are mandatory, while EMS, Part 135, King Air and turbine backgrounds receive preference.
Responsibilities
- Serve as pilot in command of the King Air BE200GT on aeromedical missions.
- Coordinate operational decisions with medical crew members.
- Make timely aircraft-performance and weather decisions at varied airports.
- Deliver safe, professional and punctual service in a demanding environment.
Requirements
- Have passed the ATP written examination.
- Hold a current Second Class medical certificate.
- Have at least 2,000 hours of total flight time.
- Demonstrate strong single-pilot IFR skills.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height.
- Previous EMS or Part 135 experience is preferred.
- An ATP certificate, BE200, Pro Line 21 and turbine experience are preferred.
