Overview
This direct-entry captain opportunity places experienced Airbus fly-by-wire commanders on Emirates widebody operations from Dubai. The position combines full command responsibility with international network flying, modern aircraft and a structured airline environment. Captains are expected to deliver safe, disciplined and commercially effective operations while leading the flight deck team and maintaining passenger comfort. The published criteria are deliberately selective: applicants must be current Airbus fly-by-wire captains with substantial command experience, recent line activity and a strong English proficiency level. The role is intended for established commanders who can transition directly into the airline's Airbus operation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and conduct each flight with safety as the primary priority.
- Lead the flight deck crew while protecting passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
- Apply sound command judgement throughout normal and non-normal operations.
Requirements
- At least 7,000 hours of qualifying flight time, excluding P3, rotary-wing and piston-aircraft time.
- At least 3,000 PIC hours on Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft, excluding the A220.
- At least 150 hours as an Airbus fly-by-wire captain during the preceding 12 months.
- Currently operating as captain on an eligible Airbus fly-by-wire type.
- Valid ICAO ATPL with a corresponding unrestricted Class 1 medical.
- ICAO English proficiency level 5 or higher.
