Overview
JSX is hiring a Quick Upgrade Captain in White Plains for its Embraer 135/145 operation. The role operates a high-frequency schedule averaging three to five legs per day over roughly fourteen to sixteen working days each month, with an emphasis on returning crews to their home base nightly. It spans pre-flight preparation, line operations, coordination with dispatch and ground teams, post-flight maintenance reporting and customer-facing turnaround support. The published experience floor includes fixed-wing total time, multi-engine time, turbine command time and recent flying, alongside current FAA credentials and medical certification.
Responsibilities
- Review maintenance status, notices, fuel, weather and routing before departure.
- Coordinate departure, arrival and diversion planning with the captain.
- Complete required pre-flight checks, safety procedures and aircraft flows.
- Operate under FAA rules, company procedures and applicable safety standards.
- Communicate with dispatch, ground operations, air traffic control and cabin crew.
- Support flight-deck decision-making during changing operational conditions.
- Assist with quick-turn cabin or baggage tasks where ground support is limited.
- Record maintenance issues and participate in recurrent training and evaluations.
Requirements
- Hold a high-school diploma or GED.
- Have at least 2,500 fixed-wing total flight hours.
- Have at least 500 multi-engine hours.
- Have at least 500 turbine PIC hours.
- Have at least 100 flight hours in the preceding twelve months.
- Have no FAA violations, accidents, incidents or suspensions.
- Have no significant training or check-ride failures.
- Hold an FAA pilot certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position.
- Hold a current FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Hold a current ATP or commercial multi-engine certificate.
- Hold a valid driving licence, passport and FCC radio permit.
- Be authorized to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship.
