Overview

Seair Seaplanes is recruiting a Cessna Caravan floatplane captain for its Vancouver operation. The pilot manages both the flight and the practical ground coordination surrounding each coastal service, including dispatch planning, weather and routing, loading, fuel, passenger safety, and aircraft records. The position requires substantial fixed-wing and float command experience, a Canadian commercial qualification, and a current medical. Familiarity with British Columbia coastal flying and the float-equipped Caravan is advantageous. The role suits an adaptable, safety-focused captain who communicates well with passengers, colleagues, dispatchers, and air traffic services.

Responsibilities

- Communicate clearly with passengers, colleagues, dispatch, and air traffic services.
- Plan routing, weather, loading, and operational details with dispatch.
- Manage fuel, cargo, and weight-and-balance requirements.
- Brief and protect passengers throughout each flight.
- Maintain situational awareness and comply with the safety management system.
- Complete pre-flight inspections, maintenance coordination, and aircraft logbook entries.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2,000 PIC hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Have at least 1,000 PIC hours on floatplanes.
  • Hold a Transport Canada-approved CPL and a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Hold a single-engine sea float endorsement.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, customer-service ability, and a strong safety focus.
  • British Columbia coastal experience and Cessna 208 float experience are preferred.
