Overview

ACI Jet is hiring a Global 8000 Second-in-Command for a Part 91 operation based in San Luis Obispo, California. Reporting to the Aircraft and Crew Manager, the pilot will operate the assigned aircraft safely while coordinating closely with dispatch, maintenance, line service and other company teams. The assignment emphasizes detailed preflight preparation, regulatory compliance, owner privacy and attentive client service. It is described as commutable for candidates who live within a company-acceptable distance of reliable airline service. A Global type rating is preferred rather than mandatory, and the selected pilot may be type-rated by the employer. The role requires substantial total and multiengine experience plus an existing turbojet PIC type rating.

Responsibilities

- Operate assigned aircraft within company, manufacturer and regulatory limitations.
- Coordinate flight objectives and changes with company dispatch personnel.
- Provide discreet, professional service to aircraft owners and guests.
- Complete thorough aircraft, documentation, fuel, weather and airport preflight checks.
- Review flight releases and determine whether operations can proceed safely.
- Report regulatory deviations to the Chief Pilot.
- Report mechanical irregularities under the approved maintenance procedures.
- Maintain effective coordination with dispatch, maintenance and line-service teams.

Requirements

  • Have at least 3,000 hours total time and 1,500 hours multiengine time.
  • Hold a current pilot certificate with an English-proficient endorsement.
  • Hold a valid ATP rating and at least one turbojet PIC type rating.
  • Hold a First Class medical certificate.
  • Hold a valid driver licence and United States passport.
  • Have a high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a bachelor's degree or three to five years of professional aviation experience.
  • Be available for nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Have no FAA violation within the preceding five years.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States.
  • A Global 7500/8000 or BBD-700 rating and Global Vision experience are preferred.
