Overview
Air New Zealand is inviting expressions of interest for an ATR flight simulator instructor based in Auckland. The instructor delivers classroom and simulator training across initial, recurrent and upgrade programmes, evaluates pilot performance and contributes to the continuing development of the ATR training system. The role combines technical instruction, formal assessment, accurate record keeping and mentoring within the airline's regulatory framework. Applicants need extensive flight experience, New Zealand licensing credentials or eligibility for the required instructor authority, and permanent work rights in the country. Previous instructional experience and the ability to communicate complex operational material clearly are important parts of the profile.
Responsibilities
- Deliver ATR classroom and simulator instruction for initial, recurrent and upgrade programmes.
- Conduct checks and assessments under the applicable Part 121 framework.
- Record trainee performance and provide clear developmental feedback.
- Help develop and improve the ATR training programme and supporting material.
- Collaborate with training colleagues and mentor flight crew members.
Requirements
- At least 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Current NZCAA CPL or ATPL.
- Eligibility for an NZCAA Category D instructor rating.
- Relevant flight or simulator instructional experience.
- Permanent unrestricted right to work in New Zealand.
- Strong communication, assessment and mentoring capability.
