Overview
Air Methods is hiring a full-time PC-12 IFR pilot for its Life Net operation in North Platte, Nebraska. The role supports air-medical transport by confirming that the aircraft and operating conditions are suitable before carrying medical crews and patients within the assigned service area. The pilot works under federal operating rules, the company operations manual, and internal procedures, with final authority for the aircraft and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment. The published schedule is seven days on followed by seven days off, using twelve-hour shifts. The vacancy also advertises off-duty housing, relocation support, several stipends, and a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned aircraft safely and within applicable rules and company procedures.
- Complete every preflight, sign the daily flight log, and inspect the aircraft before and after each flight.
- Exercise final operational authority for the aircraft, passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Remain familiar with the aircraft and medical systems used in primary and backup aircraft.
- Help medical crew members understand and use the installed medical interior and systems.
- Complete all required operational documentation accurately.
- Prepare detailed flight plans to exacting standards, including on short notice.
- Participate in company meetings, projects, committees, and community outreach.
Requirements
- Hold an associate degree or equivalent education plus two to five years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
- Be younger than 70 and maintain a body weight no higher than 250 pounds.
- Have flown in the relevant aircraft category during the previous 24 months.
- Have at least 2,500 total hours, including 2,000 hours in category.
- Have at least 1,000 PIC hours in category.
- Have 500 cross-country hours, including at least 50 at night.
- Have at least 500 turbine hours.
- Have at least 100 night hours.
- Have at least 100 hours in actual instrument conditions in category.
- Hold an instrument rating for the applicable aircraft category and class; an ATP rating in category also satisfies this condition.
- Hold a commercial single-engine land certificate for this single-engine assignment.
- Hold a first- or second-class FAA medical certificate.
- Be available for a seven-on, seven-off schedule with twelve-hour shifts.
