Overview

The New York Power Authority is recruiting a King Air pilot for corporate transportation from White Plains. The pilot exercises command authority, evaluates weather, routes, fuel, alternates, performance, weight and balance, and aircraft readiness, and records operational activity. Additional work includes schedule coordination, navigation-data upkeep, servicing oversight, and liaison with the chief pilot and travel team. The required experience threshold is lower than several preferred benchmarks: candidates need a commercial multi-engine instrument qualification and 1,500 total hours, while ATP, higher total time, and multi-engine command experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

- Command assigned King Air flights in accordance with FAA and company requirements.
- Evaluate weather, routes, fuel, alternates, performance, and weight and balance.
- Complete pre-flight readiness checks and coordinate aircraft servicing.
- Maintain operational records, software, and required reports.
- Coordinate schedules with the chief pilot and travel function.
- Keep navigation databases current.
- Arrange fuel, de-icing, and other fixed-base services.

Requirements

  • Hold an FAA commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multi-engine ratings.
  • Have at least 1,500 total flight hours.
  • Hold a current FAA First or Second Class medical certificate.
  • Hold a high-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience includes 2,000 total hours, 1,000 multi-engine PIC hours, and 500 turboprop hours.
  • ATP certification, a BE-300 type rating, recent King Air simulator training, and college education are preferred.
