Overview
Pentastar Aviation currently lists separate Gulfstream G500 and G550 Pilot-in-Command opportunities in Waterford, Michigan. The G500 assignment operates with a three-pilot crew under Part 91 and includes rotating SIC duties on a Pilatus PC-12 NGX, while the G550 opportunity supports a broader large-cabin fleet and international mission profile. In both cases, the Captain is responsible for passenger and crew safety, timely operation, flight planning decisions and regulatory compliance. The employer requires significant total time, prior business and international aviation experience, and the ability to handle changing schedules. Selected pilots must live within the specified driving radius of their assigned southeast Michigan airport.
Responsibilities
- Command assigned Gulfstream missions safely, comfortably and on schedule.
- Supervise the flight crew and ensure compliant ground and airborne operations.
- Determine routes, speeds and operating times to meet mission requirements.
- Decide on delays, reroutes or cancellations when conditions require.
- Coordinate mission planning with trip specialists and international handlers.
- Perform departmental duties and attend crew meetings when not flying.
- For the G500 assignment, rotate through PC-12 NGX SIC duties.
Requirements
- Hold an ATP certificate.
- Have at least 4,000 hours of total flight time.
- Have prior business-aviation and international operating experience.
- Have large-cabin Gulfstream experience for the current G500 assignment.
- Be able to manage a changing work schedule.
- Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Live within two hours of the assigned Waterford or Detroit-area base.
- A bachelor's degree and relevant Gulfstream type experience are preferred.
- PC-12 NG or NGX experience is preferred for the dual-qualified G500 role.
