Overview

Porter Airlines is recruiting Direct Entry Captains for the Embraer E195-E2 at Toronto Pearson. The airline is expanding its jet operation and seeks experienced transport-category jet commanders who can lead collaboratively, uphold its safety-management system and support a high standard of passenger service. Captains are expected to report hazards and incidents, promote company safety policy and communicate openly with other team members. The role requires recent airline flying, a Transport Canada ATPL and defined total, transport-jet and command experience in Canadian airline operations. Applicants must also have the legal ability to work in Canada and suitable passport and crew-visa documentation for the carrier's international network.

Responsibilities

- Lead flight operations while collaborating with other company team members.
- Operate every flight to the company's safety and service standards.
- Participate actively in the Safety Management System.
- Report operational hazards and incidents.
- Understand, follow and promote company safety policy.
- Communicate openly and respectfully while providing people leadership.
- Deliver professional passenger service and support organisational goals.

Requirements

  • Hold a Transport Canada ATPL.
  • Have at least 4,500 hours of total flight time.
  • Have at least 1,000 hours on transport-category jets in CARs 705 airline operations.
  • Have at least 500 PIC hours on transport-category jets in CARs 705 operations.
  • Have recent airline flying experience within the preceding 24 months.
  • Demonstrate English proficiency at ICAO Level 5 or higher.
  • Have the legal right to work in Canada with the required passport and crew-visa documents.
  • E170-family, modern automated-aircraft and airline checking experience are assets.
