Overview
Spring Japan is recruiting Boeing 737-800 captains for a renewable three-year assignment based at Tokyo Narita. The airline operates domestic and international routes and supports successful expatriate pilots through the Japanese licence-validation and training process. Applicants need substantial total, jet, EFIS and airline command experience, together with an appropriate B737 or other jet type rating depending on the licence held. Current medical and English credentials are mandatory, and age limits differ between international and Japanese licensing pathways. Selection includes document screening, interview, simulator assessment and medical evaluation in Tokyo before the approximately eight-month training programme begins.
Responsibilities
- Command Boeing 737-800 scheduled services from Tokyo Narita.
- Maintain safe, compliant and reliable domestic and international operations.
- Lead the operating crew and apply company procedures throughout each flight.
- Complete required Japanese licence training and operational standardisation.
Requirements
- At least 4,000 hours of total flight time.
- At least 3,000 hours on jet aircraft.
- At least 1,000 PIC hours with a commercial airline.
- At least 1,000 hours on EFIS-equipped aircraft.
- B737 type rating with an ICAO ATPL, or a jet type rating with a JCAB ATPL.
- Current ICAO Class 1 medical certificate.
- ICAO English proficiency level 4 or higher.
- Age below 55 for the ICAO pathway or below 60 for the JCAB pathway.
