Overview

Air France brings professional pilots into its medium-haul network as first officers, where they share aircraft handling, navigation, radio work, and technical monitoring with the captain. The selection profile accepts an ATPL or a CPL with multi-engine instrument privileges, backed by EU-approved ATPL theory, MCC training, and a current Class 1 medical. English must reach FCL.055 level 5 and the recent TOEIC score must be at least 850. French fluency and EEA or Swiss nationality are also required. Pilots without an initial CS-25 rating face additional UPRT and conditional command-experience criteria.

Responsibilities

- Operate assigned flights while maintaining safe aircraft control and navigation.
- Manage radio communications and monitor aircraft technical systems.
- Support the captain and assume the duties assigned to the second pilot.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid ATPL or a CPL with multi-engine instrument privileges.
  • Have completed ATPL theory through an approved training organisation in an EU member state.
  • Maintain a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Have satisfactory multi-crew cooperation training.
  • Demonstrate English proficiency at FCL.055 level 5 or higher.
  • Provide a TOEIC score of at least 850 obtained within the previous two years.
  • Hold EEA or Swiss nationality.
  • Speak French fluently; non-native speakers need FCL.055 French level 6.
  • Have no previous failure in Air France or Transavia flight training.
  • Candidates without a first CS-25 type rating need Advanced UPRT and 70 PIC hours or the stated equivalent.
