Overview
Airlink is hiring pilots into its Accelerated Command pathway at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. The assigned Captain is accountable for the aircraft, crew and passengers from formal acceptance following the preflight inspection until release to qualified personnel after the operation. The programme is aimed at experienced pilots who already hold airline transport privileges and significant medium-aircraft time. Applicants must also meet formal secondary education and instrument-rating requirements. Applications remain open through 31 December 2026. The role sits alongside Airlink's wider pilot development structure, which offers training, career progression and operational exposure within a growing regional airline.
Responsibilities
- Accept responsibility for the aircraft, passengers and crew after the preflight inspection.
- Exercise command responsibility throughout each assigned operation.
- Release the aircraft only to qualified flight or ground personnel.
Requirements
- Hold a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Hold a CAA pilot licence.
- Maintain a valid instrument rating.
- Hold a valid ATPL.
- Have at least 5,000 hours of total flight time.
- Have at least 2,000 hours on medium aircraft.
