Overview

Airlink is recruiting Direct Entry Captains for its Johannesburg operation at O.R. Tambo International Airport. The Captain assumes responsibility for the aircraft, passengers and crew once the aircraft has been accepted after preflight inspection, retaining command until it is formally released to qualified flight or ground personnel after the mission. Candidates need substantial airline command experience, including significant time on medium aircraft and medium jets, together with secondary education, an instrument rating and a current airline transport pilot licence. The role suits an experienced commander able to exercise continuous operational accountability across the full duty cycle while working within Airlink's pilot organisation.

Responsibilities

- Assume responsibility for the aircraft, passengers and crew after aircraft acceptance.
- Retain command responsibility throughout the assigned operation.
- Release the aircraft only to qualified flight or ground personnel after the mission.

Requirements

  • Hold a Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent education credential.
  • Hold a CAA pilot licence and a valid instrument rating.
  • Hold a valid ATPL.
  • Have at least 5,000 hours of total flight time.
  • Have at least 2,000 hours on medium aircraft.
  • Have at least 500 PIC hours on medium jet aircraft.
