Overview

Draken is recruiting an L-159 captain for its Red Air Aggressor capability, based from Teesside with activity across the United Kingdom and Europe. The role supports advanced adversary-air training for military customers and requires recent fast-jet credibility, sound airborne leadership and disciplined operational judgement. The organisation seeks pilots able to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders while maintaining demanding safety and mission standards. Additional instructional, radar, weapons-instructor and single-seat experience strengthens an application but is presented as desirable rather than universal.

Responsibilities

- Fly adversary-air training missions in the L-159.
- Provide airborne leadership and make sound operational decisions.
- Maintain safe, compliant and reliable mission delivery.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Have military fast-jet experience, preferably gained within the last six years.
  • Hold NATO Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain it.
  • Hold a UK CPL or ATPL, or an ICAO-compliant equivalent.
  • Hold a UK CAA Class 1 medical or an ICAO equivalent.
  • Have completed Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.
  • At least 1,000 fast-jet hours are desirable.
  • QWI, flying-instructor, radar or single-seat experience is desirable.
  • MCC experience is desirable.
