Overview
Ethiopian Airlines is recruiting expatriate Boeing 777 and 787 captains for operations based in Addis Ababa. The opportunity is aimed at current widebody commanders with extensive jet command experience, a valid type rating, and recent proficiency on one of the specified Boeing fleets. Candidates must satisfy age, medical, language, passport, currency, and safety-record conditions alongside the required licensing. The role places experienced captains within a major international network and requires accountable command leadership, reliable multicrew coordination, and readiness for long-haul operations across the carrier's global route structure.
Requirements
- Hold a valid JAA, FAA, or ICAO ATPL.
- Hold a current Boeing 777 or Boeing 787 type rating.
- Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Demonstrate English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
- Have at least 3,500 hours on jet aircraft.
- Have at least 2,500 PIC hours on jet aircraft.
- Have at least 500 command hours on the Boeing 777 or Boeing 787.
- Be 60 years old or younger.
- Have completed the most recent proficiency requirement within the preceding three months.
- Hold a passport valid for at least two years.
- Have no aviation accident or incident record.
