Overview
FlightSafety International is recruiting a flight instructor in Columbus to deliver ground and simulator training for professional aviation clients. The instructor supports core, specialty and enrichment courses, prepares learning material, evaluates trainee progress and maintains accurate training records. The position requires an unrestricted airline transport credential or eligibility under specified federal pathways, plus an unrestricted PIC type rating. The employer lists 2,500 total hours only as a preference rather than a mandatory threshold. Participation in the company's DOT drug and alcohol testing programme is compulsory.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pilot ground school and simulator instruction.
- Prepare training material aligned with the applicable curriculum and client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress and recommend qualification or further training.
- Maintain accurate client training records.
- Identify training issues and obtain support before delivery.
- Maintain instructor qualifications under applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Hold an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ATPL issued by an ICAO member state.
- Without an ATP, meet the specified 14 CFR 61.153 and 61.64 conditions without an SOE limitation.
- Hold at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Participate in DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Part 121, Part 135 or military training experience is preferred.
- At least 2,500 total flight hours are preferred, not required.
