Overview

Jetconnect, a Qantas Group subsidiary, is recruiting permanent Boeing 737-800 First Officers for its New Zealand operation. Both type-rated and non-type-rated pilots may apply, with a funded type rating offered under the stated three-year employment condition. New hires receive First Officer base pay from their first day and train through Qantas Flight Training. The position supports the captain in delivering safe, efficient operations and passenger service within a close professional crew. Applicants must satisfy common total-time and turbine or multi-engine experience thresholds plus one of two published command-experience pathways.

Responsibilities

- Support the captain in conducting safe and efficient B737 operations.
- Maintain the professional and training standards expected across the operation.
- Help deliver consistent service to passengers while representing the Qantas brand.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1,500 total aeroplane flight hours.
  • Have at least 500 hours on powered fixed-wing multi-engine aircraft or single-engine turbine aircraft.
  • Either have 250 command hours, or 250 command hours with up to 180 ICUS plus 500 hours as co-pilot on transport-category aircraft.
  • Hold, or obtain before starting, an Australian CASA ATPL(A) or CPL(A).
  • CPL holders must pass all Australian CASA or New Zealand CAA ATPL subjects.
  • Hold a CASA multi-engine aeroplane instrument rating with 2D and 3D approach endorsements.
  • Hold a current multi-engine aeroplane instrument proficiency check.
  • Show English level 6 on the CASA licence.
  • Hold a current CASA Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Qualify for Australian ASIC and New Zealand AvSec security clearances.
  • Hold a passport valid for at least twelve months.
  • Have unrestricted New Zealand work rights; other passport holders need permanent residence.
