Overview
Jett Aircraft is accepting captain applications for its Learjet 40/45 charter fleet under Part 135 standards. Captains serve as pilot in command for assigned flights and retain responsibility even when individual tasks are delegated to the First Officer. The work covers flight planning, weather and NOTAM review, aircraft airworthiness, fuel and performance planning, passenger handling, and compliance with company procedures and federal operating rules. Crews are home based, typically work a flexible schedule averaging sixteen duty days per month, and complete company-approved type and recurrent training. The position requires an ATP, turbine and multiengine experience, appropriate medical certification, and unrestricted travel documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct every assigned flight with safety as the primary consideration.
- File flight plans and complete weight-and-balance calculations.
- Review weather, NOTAMs, route facilities and operational risk before departure.
- Confirm aircraft airworthiness and completion of the required preflight inspection.
- Plan fuel and performance within aircraft limitations.
- Direct the First Officer during flight preparation and operation.
- Ensure compliance with federal rules, operating specifications and company procedures.
- Oversee passenger, baggage, cargo and ground-handling needs.
Requirements
- Hold an Airline Transport Pilot certificate.
- Have at least 1,500 hours of total flight time; 2,500 hours are preferred.
- Have at least 500 hours of turbine time.
- Have at least 500 hours on multiengine aircraft.
- Hold a current United States passport.
- Hold an FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Complete the company's Learjet 45 type and Part 135 training requirements.
- Be able to lift, push or pull at least 80 pounds.
