Overview

Leading Edge Aviation is recruiting a full-time FIC-approved Flight Instructor at its Oxford campus. The position develops and standardises instructors in the United Kingdom and Spain, delivers training toward instructor certificates and upgrades, and also provides multi-engine flight and simulator instruction to integrated and modular students. Courses cover UK and European licensing pathways, and travel to the Spanish campus is required when needed. The employer prioritises instructor-training experience, current instructional privileges and medical fitness; multi-engine and additional instructor qualifications are identified separately where desirable rather than treated as universal prerequisites.

Responsibilities

- Standardise incoming flight instructors to the academy's safety and training expectations.
- Deliver initial instructor-certificate training and instrument, night or multi-engine upgrades.
- Provide training toward the stated FCL instructor certificates.
- Deliver standardised multi-engine flight and simulator instruction to students.
- Track student progress, report deficiencies and complete required records.
- Monitor training aircraft and simulator condition and report discrepancies.
- Promote flight safety and participate in the safety-management reporting process.
- Attend instructor-development, standardisation and administrative meetings.

Requirements

  • Hold FIC or FII approval.
  • Hold UK CAA FCL credentials; EASA FCL credentials are desirable.
  • Hold the required FI(A) instructional privileges, with additional privileges desirable.
  • Hold a related-authority Class 1 medical valid for at least six months.
  • Previous experience training fellow flight instructors is required.
  • Maintain all licences, ratings and medical certification.
  • Be able to travel from Oxford to the Spanish campus when required.
  • Work the established shift rota.
  • Demonstrate strong report-writing, systems, IT and communication skills.
  • An MEP land rating is desirable.
