Overview
Western Global Airlines is hiring home-based First Officers for an August 24, 2026 class, with assignments on either the Boeing 747-400 or MD-11. The airline operates international cargo charter services for logistics, express, e-commerce, nonprofit and government customers. First Officers serve as second-in-command, coordinate each flight with the Captain and operate under company manuals, operating specifications and federal requirements. The schedule includes 17 days away from home base. Candidates need 2,500 total hours, a current FAA ATPL and Class 1 medical, an FCC permit, ICAO Level 4 English, unrestricted international travel documents and a clean accident and incident history.
Responsibilities
- Serve as second-in-command and conduct each flight under applicable directives in coordination with the Captain.
- Operate under company manuals, operating specifications, federal rules, airworthiness directives, guidance, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Comply with route and airport qualification, flight-time, currency, equipment, study, uniform, policy, and procedure programs.
Requirements
- Hold a current, valid FAA ATPL.
- Hold a valid FAA Class 1 medical certificate.
- Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Demonstrate ICAO English Level 4 proficiency.
- Have at least 2,500 hours of total flight experience.
- Have no accident or incident history.
- Hold a valid United States passport permitting unrestricted international travel.
- Pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and a ten-year background check.
- Previous Part 121 airline experience is preferred.
- An aviation or related college degree is preferred.
- A previous B747-400 or Boeing rating, or an MD-11 or Airbus rating, is preferred.
- One thousand Part 121 hours is preferred; up to 500 military PIC hours on qualifying multi-engine turbine aircraft may count toward that figure.
- PIC experience under the cited Part 135 or Part 91 operating provisions is preferred.
