Overview
AFTA is recruiting flight instructors to deliver aircraft, simulator, and ground instruction within its approved training environment. Instructors follow approved syllabi, maintain accurate training paperwork, monitor student progress, and provide structured feedback while supporting student welfare and discipline. The role requires unrestricted European flight-instructor privileges, multi-engine instrument competence, medical fitness, and strong knowledge of approved-training-organisation rules and manuals. Additional instrument or class-rating instructor privileges are advantageous. Candidates should combine technical knowledge with clear communication, regulatory awareness, and a consistent safety mindset.
Responsibilities
- Deliver flight, simulator, and ground instruction under approved syllabi.
- Complete required training records and administrative documentation.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Apply health, safety, authority, and company procedures.
- Support student welfare and address discipline where required.
- Maintain accurate records and follow training manuals and policies.
Requirements
- Hold a valid EASA CPL with multi-engine instrument privileges.
- Hold an unrestricted EASA FI(A) certificate.
- Hold a valid EASA Class 1 medical certificate.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EASA, Irish authority, and ATO requirements.
- Demonstrate ICAO English Level 5 or 6.
- Understand Part-ORA, approved manuals, and relevant ATPL theory.
- Previous instructional experience is expected.
- IRI or CRI privileges are a significant advantage.
