Overview

Challenge Group is recruiting Boeing 777 captains to exercise full command of cargo flights and safeguard the aircraft, crew, and load. The captain oversees operational preparation, airworthiness, weather, fuel, performance, mass and balance, security, documentation, and post-flight reporting while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and company procedures. The vacancy supports both type-rated and non-type-rated applicants, but the two routes carry different total and command experience thresholds. A current European airline transport licence, instrument privileges, and Class 1 medical fitness are required for both pathways.

Responsibilities

- Exercise command and protect the aircraft, crew, and cargo.
- Review weather, operational briefings, and required reports before flight.
- Confirm airworthiness and apply MEL or CDL provisions correctly.
- Oversee fuel, mass and balance, and aircraft-performance planning.
- Ensure required security, operational, and aircraft documentation is complete.
- Complete post-flight records and mandatory operational reports.
- Ensure each flight follows applicable law and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Hold a current EASA ATPL, Class 1 medical certificate, and instrument rating.
  • Type-rated route: at least 5,000 total hours and 2,000 PIC hours on medium or heavy jets.
  • Type-rated route: at least 500 command hours on the Boeing 777 or another Boeing heavy jet.
  • Non-type-rated route: at least 6,000 total hours and 3,000 PIC hours on medium or heavy jets.
  • Meet the Boeing 777 qualification conditions for the selected pathway.
