Overview
Etihad Airways is hiring an Airbus A320 captain for its Abu Dhabi operation. The commander carries final responsibility for the aircraft and leads both flight-deck and cabin teams throughout each service. The role combines safe and secure decision-making with punctual, reliable and customer-focused operation. Etihad also expects captains to support efficient fuel and environmental practices without compromising safety. The published criteria target experienced A320 commanders with recent type activity, substantial multi-crew command time and an unrestricted current licence and medical.
Responsibilities
- Take final responsibility for the safe, secure and efficient conduct of each flight.
- Exercise command from the start of taxi until final shutdown.
- Lead flight-deck and cabin crews through effective crew-resource management.
- Support operational efficiency and environmental policies without reducing safety margins.
- Promote punctuality, reliability and a positive passenger experience.
Requirements
- Have at least 5,500 hours of total flight time.
- Have at least 2,500 PIC hours on multi-crew glass-cockpit aircraft.
- Have at least 1,500 PIC hours on the A320 family.
- Have operated the A320 within the preceding 12 months.
- Hold a current A320 type rating valid for at least two months on joining.
- Hold an unrestricted, current ICAO ATPL.
- Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Be younger than 59 when joining.
- Demonstrate English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
- TRI or TRE qualifications are advantageous.
- Inflight-relief time is credited at 75 percent.
