Overview
Etihad Airways is recruiting an Airbus A320 captain instructor to combine line command with pilot development. The appointee holds ultimate responsibility for safe, secure, and efficient flight operations, leads the crew through sound resource management, and supports fuel efficiency and punctual performance. Instructional duties include simulator and line training, competency assessment, feedback, and development of other pilots. The vacancy requires extensive total, command, A320 command, and instructional experience, together with current ICAO licensing, medical fitness, English proficiency, and recent A320 operation.
Responsibilities
- Exercise command responsibility for the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo.
- Lead the crew from taxi through shutdown using effective resource management.
- Promote efficient fuel use and reliable on-time performance.
- Conduct simulator and line instruction under approved training standards.
- Assess pilot competencies and provide developmental feedback.
- Apply applicable operating rules, manuals, and company procedures.
- Model resilient, professional flight-deck leadership.
Requirements
- Have at least 5,500 total flight hours.
- Have at least 2,500 PIC hours on multi-crew glass-cockpit aircraft.
- Have at least 1,500 PIC hours on the Airbus A320 family.
- Have flown the A320 within the previous 12 months and retain type validity through joining.
- Hold a current unrestricted ICAO ATPL, A320 rating, and Class 1 medical certificate.
- Be younger than 59 and demonstrate ICAO English Level 4 or higher.
- Have at least three years as an A320 instructor or examiner.
- Have at least 1,000 hours of simulator instruction and 1,000 hours of line or initial-operating-experience instruction.
- TRI, TRE, cadet, MPL, EBT, AQP, or ATQP experience is advantageous.
