Overview
Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre is hiring a Senior Flight Instructor to lead and improve its instructional programmes. The position combines programme development, instructor supervision, student-remediation planning and direct flight, ground and simulator teaching. The instructor conducts competency-based assessments, debriefs trainees and instructors, supports upgrade and recurrent training and evaluates tools that could improve delivery. Candidates need an aviation flight-management degree or diploma, five to ten years of relevant leadership experience, two to five years of instructional delivery and a current Class I or II Flight Instructor Rating. Strong leadership, communication, conflict-management and technology skills are also required.
Responsibilities
- Lead programme-improvement and training-delivery projects.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and implement practical process improvements.
- Coach instructors on syllabus use, lesson conduct and professional development.
- Identify student difficulties and create appropriate remediation plans.
- Deliver upgrade, recurrent and remedial training to instructors.
- Provide direct flight, ground and simulator instruction.
- Conduct competency assessments and detailed debriefings.
- Evaluate emerging training technology and recommend useful tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in aviation flight management.
- Five to ten years of relevant leadership experience.
- Two to five years of instructional-delivery experience.
- Current Class I or Class II Flight Instructor Rating.
- Strong leadership, team-building and management capability.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and conflict-management skills.
- Prior aircraft operating experience sufficient to maintain instructional credibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools and ability to support a diverse team.
