Overview
NW Wings Aviation is hiring a full-time or part-time Certified Flight Instructor for its Part 61 school in Hillsboro, Oregon. The instructor delivers flight and ground training, conducts preflight and postflight briefings, helps students prepare for FAA knowledge and practical tests and maintains complete training records. Candidates must be authorised to work in the United States and hold an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate, Certified Flight Instructor certificate and Class 2 medical or higher. A CFII rating and previous instructional experience are preferred. Strong communication, organisation, time management and availability for flexible hours, including weekends, are also important.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, professional and effective flight instruction.
- Conduct ground lessons and pre-flight and post-flight briefings.
- Prepare students for FAA Part 61 knowledge and practical tests.
- Maintain detailed student records and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in the school's promotional events.
- Remain current on FAA rules, instructional practices and industry developments.
Requirements
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Hold an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate.
- Hold an FAA Certified Flight Instructor certificate.
- Hold an FAA Class 2 medical certificate or higher.
- Understand Part 61 flight-school requirements.
- Be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Demonstrate strong communication, organisation and time management.
- A CFII rating and prior instructional experience are preferred.
