Overview
Canadian North is recruiting an ATR 42 first officer for northern airline operations. The first officer shares responsibility for safe, compliant aircraft operation, follows company procedures and participates actively in the operator's safety reporting culture. The vacancy accepts two experience pathways: a standard threshold for applicants from general backgrounds and a lower threshold for graduates of recognised aviation programmes. Because these pathways differ, there is no single total-time minimum that applies to every candidate. Applicants must hold current Canadian commercial, instrument and medical credentials, complete the required airline examinations or equivalents, maintain travel documentation and satisfy airport-security and employment eligibility conditions.
Responsibilities
- Support safe operation of the aircraft and protection of everyone on board.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and operational manuals.
- Report hazards, safety concerns and relevant operational events.
- Complete the required Transport Canada pilot proficiency check.
- Coordinate effectively with the captain, cabin crew and operational teams.
Requirements
- Either at least 750 hours total time, or 250 hours for graduates of a recognised aviation programme.
- Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence.
- IATRA examination or completed SARON and SAMRA examinations.
- Current Group 1 instrument rating and Category 1 medical.
- Legal right to work in Canada.
- Valid passport, permanent-resident documentation and visas required for the network.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the applicable restricted-area security clearance.
